This output will mark the success of the UPPScience Community of Practice.
It will be the next development after the successful generation of the critical mass of members in the CoP in IO2. It will receive the support of technology and be the subject of observation of the UPPScience Community of Practice Observatory. It will observe the quality standards and be disciplined by the protocol set in IO1.
It will receive the support of the training activities of the UPPScience project during which there will be training on behaviour within the CoP, use of its tools, research practice, cooperation and peer review.
This is a partnership wide effort and the fulfillment of the UPPScience project. The gallery will be made up of papers that will be the result of research and that will be published by one or two members of the CoP. Publication of papers will require peer review and approval for publishing by two other members of the CoP. This may very well happen at a local level and within the same organisation in fact publishing will be allowed to be in the native language of the publisher however UPPScience will encourage members of the CoP to go outside their domestic context up to cross border and cross disciplinary levels. This quality will be fostered during the training activities, which will all be international and will involve several partners.
The gallery of research publications will be of a minimum of 150 papers in the lifetime of the project. They will be on STEM, IT and topics related to fields that are affected by or that affect the world of science. There will be papers on pedagogy and covering areas / topics that run horizontal across topics and fields of study.
The gallery shall contain research publications by:
- managers,
- teachers and trainers in VET,
- trainers of future teachers and trainers in VET,
- students in lower HE levels of study,
- science professionals and
- professionals who work in fields ancillary to all the above areas of professional activity.
Given the strong link between this IO and the success of UPPScience there will be a leader of the IO that will lead the concerted effort of all the partnership with the support of the Ambassadors of Change that all partners shall appoint in their respective organisation. This is because the IO is not only about the gallery of research publications but also about fostering the research and publication culture that UPPScience wishes to bring into VET, lower HE and professionals in industry who can be agents for relationships between VET and enterprise.
The development of this IO and the process towards its delivery will be the subjects of the observations of the UPPScience CoP observatory and also an inspiration of at least part of the recommendations that UPPScience will make in IO7.
The costs related to the development and delivery of this IO are entirely staff costs related to production of content of research papers, review and interaction between members of the CoP, effort to foster research culture in partner organisations and in local clusters outside it. One can say that the cost of travel for training is to support this activity though the production of the IO6 will not be carried out during the training activity days.
